Project Cinderella: Give Your Halloween Pumpkin a Second Life ✨♻️

This Halloween, don't let your decorative pumpkins meet a spooky end in a landfill. Furry Green is excited to announce Project Cinderella✨. We will collect Halloween pumpkin decorations and give them a second life by upcycling them into something wonderful!

🎃 What happens to the pumpkins?

Collected pumpkins will be carefully inspected, cleaned, processed, and transformed into delicious, nutritious meals for our furry friends. These special-edition pumpkin meals will then be donated to local charities and animal shelters, supporting pets in need across Hong Kong. It's a true full-circle moment: from decoration to donation.

⚠️ Important Guidelines

To ensure the safety and quality of the food we create, please follow these guidelines:

  • Only uncarved, uncut, or unopened pumpkins will be accepted.
  • Pumpkins that have been painted with non-toxic, pet-safe paint are acceptable.
  • For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept carved pumpkins (e.g., Jack-o'-lanterns) as they spoil quickly.
  • Please ensure pumpkins show no signs of rot, mold, or significant blemishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't you accept carved pumpkins?

For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept carved pumpkins. Once a pumpkin is carved, it's exposed to bacteria and begins to decompose quickly, making it unsuitable for processing into pet food.

Where do the donated meals go?

The meals created from the collected pumpkins will be donated to our partner local animal charities and shelters across Hong Kong, supporting pets in need and reducing food waste.

Is pumpkin good for dogs and cats?

Yes, pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) is a fantastic source of fiber for both dogs and cats. It can help with digestive regularity, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. We process it to ensure it's a safe and nutritious part of their meal.
