Inclusive Parks for Pets are designated open spaces where owners and their leashed dogs are welcome together. Depending on the venue, you may find open lawns and pathways, seating and rest areas, and — at larger parks — dedicated pet amenities. Many of the listed venues are harbourfront promenades offering scenic waterside walks, while others are set aside as designated zones within a larger park.
Rules of Use
- Dogs must be kept on a leash and under the owner's control at all times.
- Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately and dispose of waste properly.
- Aggressive or unsociable dogs are not suitable for shared spaces — please be considerate of other users.
- Observe each venue's opening hours and any site-specific restrictions posted on-site.
- Respect the facilities, planting and other park users to keep these shared spaces enjoyable for everyone.
Tips Before You Go
- Check the location type: Some venues are entire parks, while those marked 📍 are designated zones within a larger site — look for the signage on arrival.
- Pack the essentials: Leash, water bowl, waste bags, a pet mat and a towel.
- Pick the right time: Early morning or dusk are cooler and more comfortable for your dog.
- Stay protected: Make sure your dog is vaccinated and up to date on flea and tick prevention.
FAQ
Can I let my dog off-leash in these parks?
No. Dogs must be kept on a leash and under the owner's control at all times in Inclusive Parks for Pets. These are shared public spaces, not fenced off-leash dog runs.
Are all breeds and sizes allowed?
There is generally no breed restriction, but owners are responsible for ensuring their dog is well-behaved and sociable. Aggressive dogs are not suitable for these shared areas.
What do the # and * symbols mean?
# indicates the venue is located at a harbourfront area. * indicates the Inclusive Park for Pets is set within a designated area of a larger venue — check the on-site signage to find the exact zone.
